Key Responsibilities / Essential Duties

•Design and develop robust, scalable software solutions in alignment with enterprise coding standards, SDLC policies, and procedures, ensuring production-readiness across source control branching/merging, automated test coverage, automated builds, and automated release pipelines.

•Build, maintain, and execute comprehensive regression test suites for existing software, ensuring that all system tests are successfully completed, documented, and all identified defects are resolved prior to production deployment.

•Lead the design, creation, and execution of test plans and procedures for complex projects, including the development of self-documenting automated unit tests, functional tests, and integrated test cases across the full software development lifecycle.

•Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for unit, functional, regression, and integrated testing using industry-standard automation tools such as Mabl, QTP, and LoadRunner, and building custom functions and procedures to support test automation frameworks.

•Implement SQL queries, database scripts, ODBC configurations, and query analyzer procedures to support test result analysis, data validation, and root-cause investigation across relational database management systems.

•Coordinate with end users to plan, schedule, and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) — including alpha and beta testing phases — ensuring business requirements are validated and all acceptance criteria are met before release.

•Collaborate with business analysts, development teams, and technical product owners to define test artifacts, clarify technical requirements, and establish common goals and direction for the ITO team across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

•Establish and communicate testing strategies for all solutions on the platform, working with team leadership to design and structure end-to-end testing approaches that address risk, coverage, and quality across all functional and non-functional requirements.

•Reproduce and investigate customer-reported issues to support customer-facing teams and development teams, performing thorough root-cause analysis and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence in production environments.

•Evaluate and recommend changes to enhance the effectiveness of ITO strategies, identifying, implementing, and tracking process improvements that advance overall software quality, team efficiency, and delivery maturity.

•Support technical upgrades, installations, and cross-departmental initiatives as needed, acting as a source of direction, training, and guidance for less experienced engineers on testing tools, automation frameworks, and engineering best practices.

•Document test strategies, test results, defect reports, and knowledge artifacts to ensure operational continuity during transitions, enabling seamless integration of evolving team structures and consistent delivery practices across the organization.

Education

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (required).

•Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline (preferred).

Experience

•Minimum professional experience as per the Level in software engineering, with a focus on software development, quality assurance, and test automation within enterprise SDLC environments.

•Minimum of hands-on experience as per the Level designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test plans — including regression, functional, integration, and user acceptance testing — in production software delivery environments.

•Demonstrated experience with end-to-end software quality assurance practices — including API testing using Postman, SQL-based test result analysis, ODBC and database scripting, and cross-

functional collaboration with business analysts, developers, and technical product owners — within an Agile enterprise environment.

•Experience in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences) is a plus.

Certifications (Required / Preferred)

•ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) or ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst — Required (one of the two).

•Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) — American Society for Quality (ASQ) — Preferred.

•Mabl Certified Professional or Selenium WebDriver Certification — Preferred.

•Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner — Preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•Expert-level proficiency in software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and SAFe frameworks, with deep understanding of software engineering best practices, coding standards, source control strategies (branching/merging), and production readiness requirements for automated builds and releases.

•Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks — including Mabl, HP/Mercury QTP, and LoadRunner — with the ability to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites, build custom test functions and procedures, and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality assurance.

•Proficiency in SQL querying and database scripting for test result analysis, data validation, and defect investigation across relational database management systems, including experience with Query Analyzer, DB scripting tools, and ODBC configuration for cross-system data access and test data management.

•Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman and related tools, with the ability to design and execute API validation workflows, validate request/response contracts, and perform functional and regression testing across RESTful and SOAP service interfaces.

•Solid understanding of programming languages including C and Visual Basic (VB), with the ability to write, debug, and maintain code for test automation scripts, custom test utilities, and software development tasks aligned with enterprise engineering standards.

•Proficiency in designing and executing comprehensive test plans and test procedures for complex projects, including unit testing, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and coordinating user acceptance testing (alpha and beta phases) with end users and business stakeholders.

•Strong experience with cross-functional collaboration across business analysts, development teams, and technical product owners to define test artifacts, clarify requirements, resolve technical ambiguities, and ensure complete traceability between business requirements and test coverage.

•Proficiency in Microsoft collaboration and productivity tools including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and the full Microsoft Office Suite, with experience contributing to Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and daily standups in distributed team environments.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to reproduce customer-reported issues, perform thorough root-cause analysis, identify systemic defect patterns, and recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence in production environments.

•Excellent communication skills with the ability to document test strategies, defect reports, and technical findings clearly, mentor less experienced engineers on testing tools and automation best practices, and adapt communication approaches for diverse technical and non-technical audiences across geographically distributed teams.
