Junior Systems Administrator – Physical Security Infrastructure

Position overview

Con Edison is seeking a customer-focused Systems Administrator to support enterprise physical-security and surveillance infrastructure. The role will administer access-control systems, video-management platforms, security databases, Windows servers, cameras, storage, and related infrastructure.  Although the position is titled Junior Systems Administrator, the assignment supports critical enterprise systems and requires substantial infrastructure experience. 

Responsibilities 

• Administer and maintain Pro-Watch access-control servers and associated hardware. 
• Support Genetec Security Center servers, video-management systems, and camera integrations. 
• Maintain ChangeGear SQL databases, including monitoring, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting. 
• Support IP cameras, video encoders, NVRs, DVRs, recording platforms, and video-storage systems. 
• Troubleshoot access-control, surveillance, server, database, and infrastructure incidents. 
• Coordinate hardware upgrades, software upgrades, firmware updates, patching, and vulnerability remediation. 
• Monitor system health, availability, capacity, performance, and storage. Maintain disaster-recovery and business-continuity procedures. 
• Create and maintain system diagrams, operating procedures, technical documentation, and support guides. 
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, facilities, and operations teams. Provide on-call and emergency support for critical systems.
